"Flow" Mindfulness Art Workshop: CLAY & MOVEMENT
Giving kids with disabilities a new sense of awareness about how they think and feel through clay sculpture and movement. NDIS Funded Event.

About the event
Participants will complete the session with a new sense of awareness about how they feel and how to express their emotions. Participants will learn how to ground themselves connect to how they feel and to express that awareness in adaptable ways.Â
1st Activity:
Participants will start off with a breathing excercise to return them to the present moment and ground them into the session.Participants will create a clay sculpture that represents a safe place to them. This may be a memory, object, time or place. Â Participants will learn to be in the moment with a happy memory and learn how this can help them during times of anxiety or frustration.
2nd Activity:
Participants will start off with a breathing excercise to return them to the present moment and ground them into the session. Participants will work with Tania, an occupational therapist and life coach. Participants will start off with a meditation activity to connect with their inner self. They will then use the mindfulness circle to do a movement activty connecting thoughts and emotions to movement.
After the two activities are completed, the kids and carers / parents are free to roam the enchanting grounds, explore the giant hedge  maze or try their hand at a life sized chess game.
